What is the difference between lifting weights and lifting weights!
When you start lifting weights its fair to say that your main focus is making sure your technique is good/safe so you don't hurt yourself or worse look stupid.
But this mindset will only get you so far so what is the next step from building confidence to building muscle?
I find a lot of my clients both men and women struggle to increase the weights they are lifting because they aren't in the right mindset. Making sure you keep your muscles engaged and good posture at all times allows you to resistance the heaver weights you are lifting. Then its all amount aggression! making sure you attack every rep as if its your last and not hold back one bit, yes you should keep control of the weight and movement but there is a difference between control and slow! for example performing a seated row and slowly pulling the handles towards you isn't going to help you push through the last couple reps when things get challenging, but instead being aggressive and going for each rep whilst controlling the movement will help open your eyes to how much you can really lift and how strong you really are.
Now that is the difference between lifting weight and lifting weights....
DON'T BE SCARED OF A BIG WIEGHT.... JUST SEE IT AS CHALLENGE!
THE WORSE THING WHICH WILL HAPPEN IS THAT YOU JUST WON'T LIFT IT... ITS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!
